Fun math game that Alina and Lyndal can play together. They each have an egg carton with numbers and two beads. For Lyndal whatever two numbers her beads land on she has to multiply them together and color in the answer on her multiplication number board. Whatever numbers Alina's beads land on she has to put them together for number recognition and color in the number on her number board. First one to bingo wins.

Lyndal had a really cool science activity. She is studying flying creatures this year. She learned about air pressure and how it helps to keep birds in the air. A bird wing is shaped in such a way that air travels faster over the top of the wing than it does below the wing. This makes the pressure above the wing lower than the pressure under the wing. Therefore, the wing lifts. She took a full glass of water and put a straw in the glass that stuck out about 1 inch. She then took another short straw and blew fast air across the top of the other straw. This made the air above the straw move faster and therefore lowered the air pressure. Since this air pressure was lowered the pressure under the straw was greater and the water shot out of the straw. Pretty fun. Everyone had to give it a try, even me. :-)

Eli
So what does Eli do during school time? I am so sad to say that the big, green playpen that most of you have joked about bit the dust. :-( As you know, it was so big that Alina and Cohen both played in it until they were about 2.5. For now Eli rolls on the floor, takes a nap and hangs out in this.

I'm not too sure what I will do with him when he gets bigger.
